Ethan had to get tubes today after 3 months of ear infections. He has been in to the doctor for more shots and antibiotics than any 6 month old should have too...and when the shots still weren't clearing up the ear infections, it was time to get tubes. However, it was almost impossible to get him into a doctor for at least another month...BUT, thanks to my wonderful cousin Jackie and her husband, they pulled a few strings for us and got Ethan into Kyle's dad the very next day (thanks guys you are life savers!) And even though he's still a little sore today, I'm sure he feels MUCH better than all those nasty ear infections. The doctor actually said he sucked all kinds of yuck out of them and that he'll still need drops to try to clear out the infection.
Here are a few of the pictures of him in the little hospital gowns (that were very big on him). He thought they were really fun to eat before the surgery. After the surgery...well, he had a really hard time with the anathesia and was pretty grumpy for about an hour. He finally crashed and slept for about 4 hours. Which was really great for Aaron and I since we had been up since 4am with him, he was a little hysterical that he couldn't eat anything :-)

Oh my goodness that is so sad. There really is nothing worst than having your kid sick. So sorry.

ear infections are the worst. Be grateful that it only took 6 months to get the tubes in his ears. Leah has been deaf in her left ear since she was born and had a constant ear infection and it took 9 months of me taking her to all sorts of crazy hearing tests and sedations and months and months of antibiotic that didn't work for her to finally get her tubes in. I am glad to say that from the day she's had that tubes we haven't had an ear infection!!!! so good luck and hopefully you will only have to do one set of tubes and be done with it.
